ABOUT PERIGON
PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION
PERIGON is a rhythmic cycling microgym that was created with Manila in mind – a bustling city constantly in transition and progress. We are a sweat movement that believes in working hard every day to push forward to become better versions of ourselves. Whether individually, or collectively, we believe in overcoming personal frontiers while shedding the layers that hold us back, forgetting outside perceptions and letting go of expectations.
UNDERCOVER ATHLETE
The “Undercover Athlete” identifies with PERIGON because they expand the definition of athleticism – into how they live every day. PERIGON aims to build a community that goes far beyond smooth rides, and around the idea of the Undercover Athlete. We connect them to one another through our space.
FAQ'S
This is my first time. Do I need experience?
No experience necessary. It doesn’t matter what your skill level is, or how fit you are. You can ride with us. Go at your own pace. Progress, not perfection. Come well hydrated and eat lightly 2-3 hours prior to your class.
We do recommend that you consult your doctor before participating in any strenuous activities with us.
It’s my first time. How early should I show up for my first class?
If you’re new to PERIGON, please arrive 30 minutes before class starts to get acquainted and set up.
This is my first time. How do I set up my bike?
The instructor and/or studio crew will help you with setting up your bike. Give yourself time to feel comfortable on your bike, test the tension, sit and stand—every bike is different.
There are three keys to proper setup on the bike:
SEAT HEIGHT:
Bring the top of the saddle to hip bone height.
HANDLEBAR HEIGHT:
The bottom of the handlebars should be the same height as, or higher than, the top of the saddle.
SEAT FORE/AFT POSITION:
The distance between the front of the saddle and the handlebar notch should equal the length from your elbow to the top of your fingers.
How old do I have to be to come to a class?
14 years old if accompanied by an adult. 16 years old to attend a class alone.
How do I sign the New Rider Waiver Form?
All first-time riders are required to fill out a New Rider Waiver Form online (when you register) and in person. ALL RIDERS are accountable for ensuring their waiver has been signed. All riders 18 years and under are required to have a parent/guardian sign in person.
What should I wear?
You’re here to sweat - wear something sweat-wicking and something you’re comfortable working out in. Same goes for socks. No need to bring shoes or towels. They’re on the house.
Bring a water bottle — we have filtered water stations at each studio.
No mobile phones permitted inside the studio room - turn off to tune in. You can leave them in the lockers. Please note that PERIGON is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
The studio is a fragrance free zone, so please refrain from wearing perfume or other heavily scented products as some clients are highly allergic.
Do you sell water?
No, we do not currently sell water. But, we do have a filtered water station available, so you can just fill up your own water bottle at the studio. Hydration is key.
Can I bring my own indoor cycling shoes?
You’re more than welcome to bring your own cycling shoes, but they will always be provided at PERIGON, on the house. If you prefer to bring your own, we recommend LOOK® Delta clips, but SPDs are also compatible.
Do cycling shoes really make a difference? What kind should I get?
Cycling shoes secure your foot to the pedals for maximum efficiency and power. You pedal in full circles—push, then pull. Our pedals accommodate Look Delta, Look Keo and SPD-style cleats.
What happens if I’m running late? What is your Lateness Policy?
Your spot may be released five minutes before class as priority is given to those who are on-time and are waitlisted in the case of a full class, so please arrive and sign in at least five minutes before class. For the safety and enjoyment of everyone at PERIGON, we cannot under any circumstances, let a guest join the class after the lights are turned off and the warm-up track has started. In other words, there will be no entry into a class after five minutes past start time – this is for everyone’s safety and to avoid being disruptive to the rest of the class. All first time riders are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes before class.
What are your refund and pass transfer policies?
We do not offer refunds on passes and all purchases are final. In case of long-term injury or relocation, we can transfer your passes to someone else for a fee and at the discretion of management. The package must be within the expiry period and the remaining passes transferred must be used by the expiry date. The management’s decision will be final.
How do I check in?
If you have booked online (recommended) look for the sign-in sheet at the front desk and look for your name and bike number. Check the map to see where your bike is in the studio. If you haven’t signed in, we’ll assume you’re not around. If you still haven’t signed in 5 minutes prior to class, we’ll give the bike up for others. We encourage all-first-time riders to choose bikes toward the back of the class so that they can feel and follow the rhythm of the pack. New riders’ bike positions may be moved to keep rides going smoothly, and with integrity.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. It's important for us to know who's riding with us and to have your contact information.
My friends and I want to take our first class together. Do we need to create our own accounts to sign up?
Yes, each new rider must create an account and fill out a New Rider Waiver Form (available in all studios) before their first class. From one account, you can book up to three bikes per class.
Classes are not transferable to other riders' accounts.
Do you have locker rooms and showers?
All PERIGON studios have keycode lockers, where you can store your gear during class. We also have showers, stocked with toiletries, as well as filtered water stations.
Is there a beginner class?
No, but all of our classes are open to all fitness levels. Our instructors give modifications throughout each class so you can tailor the workout to your ability, so you’re in control of how tough your class will be. Set your own pace and have fun. We encourage all first-time and beginner riders to choose bikes towards the back of the bike room, so that they can feel and follow the rhythm of the pack. New riders’ bike positions may be moved to keep rides going smoothly and with integrity.
Where are your studios?
PERIGON has two fully operational studio at Santolan Town Plaza (San Juan) and Festival Mall’s New Expansion (Alabang).
How do I book a class?
Each PERIGON studio offers multiple classes a day, seven days a week. Booking opens at noon (12 pm) every Monday. Pending an available bike, rides can be booked any time before the last 1 hour leading up to the ride. Register for a class on the next day (Tuesday) through Monday of the following week.
To book a bike, you must have paid passes in your account. If you’re new, you must create an account. Once registered, you can purchase passes here. One pass equals one ride. After purchasing passes, you can book a bike. Booking a bike includes choosing a bike in the studio. We encourage all beginner riders to choose bikes towards the back of the class so that they can feel and follow the rhythm of the pack. New riders’ bike positions may be moved to keep ride going smoothly, and with integrity.
We encourage guests to book bikes within their pass package’s expiry dates. It is important to note that you can only book classes within the expiry date of your purchased pass package. For example, if your pass package expires on January 1st, you cannot book classes beyond January 1st. This is to avoid guests from booking past their pass package’s expiry dates, cancelling their bookings and having their passes disappear from their accounts (and not refunded).
Are rides transferable between branches?
Yes. Passes are valid across all PERIGON studios.
What if a class fills up before I get in?
You can join the Waitlist – the earlier you join, the better your chances of getting a spot as bikes will be released and assigned automatically based on priority. If you do not get into class, the class credit will be returned to your account. Please remember to cancel your waitlist request if you no longer wish to attend class.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please make sure to cancel your spot at least 12 hours prior to your class to receive your credit back (not refunded), otherwise you will be charged for the class as if attended. Note that we rely on your attendance. Canceling well ahead of the 12-hour cancellation mark can better prepare us for classes and we can open up your spots to other guests. If you joined a Waitlist, you may be automatically added into a class, so please make sure to cancel your spot on the waitlist if you no longer plan to attend class.
